The workshop builds in both Ravi Shankar and Vilayat Khan styles. The Ravi Shankar instruments carry a double toomba and the lower kharaj strings; the Vilayat Khan instruments are brighter with a single gourd.
These are concert instruments and priced accordingly. They reward a player with developed technique.
Strung to the designed gauges with the jawari cut by hand. Retune on arrival over a day or two rather than forcing the instrument to pitch.
