Choosing yours
The taus is a large bowed instrument carved in the shape of a peacock, fretted like a dilruba but bigger and deeper. It is used in shabad kirtan and has a long association with Sikh musical tradition.
Its size makes it less portable than a dilruba, which is why many players own both.
Care and climate
The skin belly and the carved body both respond to climate. Keep it out of dry heat and direct sun, and slacken the bow after playing.

What is a taus?
