Tuning Details
We would especially like to mention about the long sustain provided by this Shruti Box. The sound of this Shruti Box will be very consistent and sonorous even when the bellow movements are not very regular and it will keep producing a consistent warm sound for quite some time even after the bellow movement has stopped
The Shruti Box is very easy to play. All you have to do is
a) release the both - front and back - bellows
b) turn the white covers sideways, to play single drone or by combining many
c) continuously pump the bellow which is opening out from top with a single hand
Thats it! If you follow the above steps, you Shruti Box will start resonating with warm notes selected by you. Volume can be controlled by the pumping speed
This Shruti Box is sold with C3 to C4 tuning. However, you can also order a Shruti Box from A#2 to A#3 or a Shruti Box from G2 to G3. The chromatic scale is based on A440 concert pitch. The Shruti Box comes with a snug-fit laptop style shoulder bag

Made for us by craftsmen near Delhi, then finished and tuned in our own workshop before it ships.

Open the packing as soon as it arrives so the instrument can air and settle into tune. Keep it away from direct heat and damp, and work the bellows gently for the first few days.

No payment is taken at checkout. We confirm availability and send payment details within one working day. Orders up to $700 can be paid by card link or bank transfer; above $700 we use bank transfer only.

Import duties, where your country charges them, are payable on delivery and are not included in the price.

I purchased the Maharaja Musicals Premium Large Teak Shruti Box, SB-L back in April 2025 and it has exceeded every expectation. Sound Quality: Warm, rich, and resonant. The sustain is generous — even when I ease off the bellows, the notes linger, weaving into space. When I chant, the overtones move gently around me, creating a field of peace and presence.

Build & Material: Solid teak wood gives a grounded feel. The matte finish is lovely and natural. I appreciate how the reeds are responsive without being harsh. It’s obvious that each part was chosen with care.

Playing Experience: It plays beautifully. The bellows are smooth, the brass reeds respond faithfully. It feels effortless to move between drones and add nuance.

Inspirational Use: I often listen to Prem Adri’s teachings and recordings — he shows how subtle shifts (finger movements, slight reed variation) can open the voice. With this Shruti Box, I can follow that flow — I can move from the root drone to uplifted tones, letting my light language emerge full and clear.

I don't normally leave reviews, but this shruti box is lovely-- long sustain, nice tone. This is my second one bc the first one was stolen recently and I had to replace it! Ordering and shipping were fast and easy, and customer service is great. I'd buy from them again!!
