How Ordering Works

Buying a handmade instrument from another country is a leap of faith. We have tried to take the risk out of it.

You pay nothing when you order

An order on this site is a request, not a payment. Nothing is charged when you place it. You are telling us which instrument you want, and we go and check.

We confirm the instrument is really available

Everything here is handmade, so stock moves. Within a working day we tell you whether the exact instrument you chose is ready, or how long it will take to build.

We film and photograph your actual instrument

Not a catalogue photo. The specific instrument going to you, played through so you can hear it, photographed from every side so you can see the wood and the finish.

If it is not right, say so. We will find you another or refund you in full. You have still paid nothing at this stage.

You approve, then you pay

Only when you are happy do we send the payment link. Cards for smaller orders, bank transfer for larger ones.

We tune it and ship it

Every instrument is tuned and checked on the day it ships, not weeks earlier in a warehouse. It goes out insured, by express courier, and you get the tracking number the moment it leaves.

Why we do it this way

We have been shipping instruments out of India since 1998. The single thing that worries people most is paying a stranger on the other side of the world for something they cannot touch.

Taking the payment last is the simplest honest answer to that. It costs us some orders from people who want to check out in thirty seconds. We think it is worth it.

Questions we get asked

Is this really free to order?
Yes. No deposit, no card held, no charge of any kind until you have seen your instrument and told us to go ahead.

What if I change my mind after seeing the video?
Then you do not buy it. You have paid nothing, so there is nothing to refund and no fee.

How long does the whole process take?
For an instrument in stock, usually a day or two to confirm and film, then shipping time. For something made to order, we tell you the build time before you commit.

Can I talk to someone first?
Yes, and we would rather you did. Message us on WhatsApp. Ask anything, including whether a cheaper instrument would suit you better. We will tell you honestly.
