I had been looking for this instrument since I first used one during some worship time overseas. The price was good and the product is excellent. The one I had used though was welded at the bottom instead of it being open to use like tongs. opening and closing. For the purpose of me getting this as a gift for a friend we intend to weld the end too. I will keep mine open as we prefer that. I bought two. The packaging was so well done and safe that I thought we wouldn't get it open! but glad it was done well as it kept the product safe and from any damage.
