Why Us?

There are plenty of places to buy an Indian instrument online. Here is what is different about buying from us.

We are not only a shop

Most of the range is made for us by craftsmen near Delhi, to our specification, and finished in our own workshop. When something is made by another maker, we say whose it is on the product page. Either way, the instrument passes through our hands and is set up by us before it ships.

You see the actual instrument first

We send photographs and video of the specific piece going into your box, not the catalogue image. You approve it before it leaves. Hand-built instruments vary, and you should see the one you are getting.

No payment until we confirm

Place an order and nothing is charged. We check availability, send you the photos and video, and arrange payment after that. Orders up to $700 can be paid by card link or bank transfer; above that we use bank transfer.

The price is the price

Prices are in US dollars and include shipping to the countries in our free shipping zone. No handling fees, no surcharges added at checkout, no freight quotes arriving after you have committed. Import duties, where your country charges them, are payable on delivery and are outside our control, and we say so upfront rather than in the small print.

Shipping and insurance

Worldwide by FedEx, DHL and UPS, with transit insurance included at no extra cost. Instruments are packed in our workshop by people who know how they break.

You can ask us anything before you buy

WhatsApp us and you will reach the people who set up the instruments. Which reed count for kirtan, which bansuri scale for your hands, whether a male or female tanpura suits the singer: these are the questions worth asking before you spend, and we would rather answer them than process a return.

We have been doing this a long time

We have been selling Indian instruments internationally since 1999, to players in the US, UK, Germany, Australia and many other countries. Reviews from those customers are on the product pages.
